His involvement in civilian corporate flying spanned 30 years. For the final ten years he was employed by the Anglo Alpha group of Companies. Colin was owner and Chief Pilot of a corporate charter company for seven years and has logged 7300 hours on 35 different aircraft types

This flying background enabled Colin to set up a successful aviation consultancy business, involving a broad spectrum of aviation work and the production of 250 Flight Operations and related manuals.

Projects included many successful Air Service Licencing Council AOC licence applications, including SAA Historic Flight and the application and granting of the AOC for a proposed second National carrier airline in South Africa.

He was appointed as the Director of Regulatory Compliance, and served on the Board.

Colin has been involved in flight safety auditing/accident investigation and aviation training for the past 20 years. He was approved as an auditor for the Billiton Group and later became the designated BHP Billiton aviation adviser based in Melbourne. He was a member of the Ansett Airlines' specialised Regulatory Compliance and Auditing Department prior to starting the Flight Safety Pty Ltd group of companies.

Colin's expertise in offshore operations extend into onshore Helicopter Landing Site (HLS) design and development and FSHC has designed the leading onshore HLS sites in Australia. 

Colin is a certified International ISO Lead Auditor. His expertise has now been carried over into the African environment with the formation of Helideck Certification-Africa.

The combination of a creative background with business management and the technology industries provides her with all the skills required to administer the company and promote Helideck Certification-Africa to ensure that all customers, legal entities and relevant bodies perceive HC-A in the positive light it deserves and recognise the important role it has to play in the aviation industry.

As a management professional Gerhan is holding and MBA in Aviation Management. Working in the Middle East, he has had vast experience in several different disciplines of aviation, working in including project manangement, consultancy services and certification of onshore and offshore heliports and helidecks.
